All-Weather Performance Durango offers an active all-wheel-drive option for added traction when the weather gets nasty. All-wheel drive is fully automatic and seamless, with no buttons to push, no levers to pull. It’s ready when it’s needed.
Durango with the 5.7L HEMI V8 engine features an available All-wheel-drive with two-speed transfer case, a low range for added versatility. The system uses throttle to sense quick movement and maximizes traction before slippage occurs. When tire slippage is detected, as much as 100 percent of available torque is routed to the axle with the most traction.
The low range torque allows you to haul a boat out of the water and flat trailer towing when putting the drive system in neutral. The Durango All-wheel-drive system also features Variable Torque Distribution for an ideal 50 / 50 split in traction to the front or rear, whenever traction is needed.
